Description

Explaining the basics of patent protection in Europe, the participants will learn during this seminar about the relevant practice applied in the EPO. Practical exercises will allow to apply this knowledge immediately. Different hands-on case studies enable practice of basic search and examination principles, with focus on non-chemical technical fields.

Prerequisites

Trainees must have at least 2 years of experience in patent examination at national offices other than member states of the European Patent Organisation. They must have basic knowledge of general computer-based prior art searching. A very good command of the English language is required, both orally and in writing.
