The 'EPO Patent Information Beginners Seminar (EPIBS) - Patent searching for beginners' is aimed at new and future users of patent information.
Participants in the beginners seminar will receive a thorough grounding in patent searching and should be able to understand and work with the EPO's basic patent information products and services after the four day course.

The fee for this four days seminar is 1080 EUR.
The price for students is 324 EUR (only applicable if student ID is valid over the whole seminar time period).
The fee covers participation in the seminar and includes the participant package with seminar support material, refreshments and lunch.

The seminar is a four day introduction to the world of patent information. The first day and a half is a general introduction into the patent system and gives insight into the benefit of patent informationas well as the basic EPO patent information products.
The seminar provides many opportunities for the practical application of the aquired knowledge as well as to speak to trainers and experts on various areas of patent information.
The seminar programme will provide you with detailed outline of the seminar.
All support material and handouts will be in English. However, all our trainers and our administrative staff are trilingual and would be pleased to answer any questions or give explanations in French or German, too.
Seminar participants are required to pay the seminar fees prior to the course, via bank transfer, credit card or deposit account. The registration for a seminar will be accepted as soon as the payment of the participation fee has arrived at the EPO. You will be notified of this via e-mail.
