Registration fee

The fee for this three days seminar is 810 EUR.

The price for students is 243 EUR (only applicable if student ID is valid over the whole seminar time period).

The fee covers participation in the seminar and includes the participant package with seminar support material, refreshments and lunch.

Materials

All support material and handouts will be in English. However, all our trainers and our administrative staff are trilingual and would be pleased to answer any questions or give explanations in French or German, too.

Payment

Seminar participants are required to pay the seminar fees prior to the course, via bank transfer, credit card or deposit account. The registration for a seminar will be accepted as soon as the payment of the participation fee has arrived at the EPO. You will be notified of this via e-mail.

Content

• Patent information services for experts
• Global Patent Index (GPI): basic functions, queries and interfaces to other products
• Practical exercises including special features
• Introduction to Esapcenet and comparison to GPI
• Introduction session on the European Patent Register featuring the federated search (deeplinking to national patent registers)
• GPI provides worldwide bibliographic data and abstracts.

  It allows users to perform professional patent searches and provides for sophisticated search functionalities. It also has direct interfaces to other EPO patent information products, with a view to completing the information obtained via GPI.

Prerequisites

A minimum of three years’ experience of patent searching, including searching by classification codes. A good understanding of the patent system is needed to understand the context of patent information products in general. A very good command of spoken and written English.
