The "Patent searching for advanced users" seminar (also known as EPIAS) is aimed at participants of intermediate and advanced levels as well as those who have already completed one of our "Patent searching for beginners" (EPIBS). It will be in the form of a four day training seminar building up on the "Patent searching for beginners" seminar.
Attendance of the 'EPO Patent Information Beginners Seminar (EPIBS) - Patent searching for beginners' or equivalent knowledge.
Participation can be subject to proof of the respective prerequisites.
The fee for this four days seminar is 1100 EUR.
The price for students is 330 EUR (only applicable if student ID is valid over the whole seminar time period).
The fee covers participation in the seminar and includes the participant package with seminar support material, refreshments and lunch.

The seminar is a 4-day intense build up on basic patent information knowledge including a half-day with the emphasis on advanced searching under the guidance of an EPO patent examiner.
The seminar provides many opportunities for the practical application of the acquired knowledge as well as to speak to trainers and experts on various areas of patent information.
Topics include advanced patent information products, including specialised areas such as patent data from Asia and business use of patent information.
The seminar programme will provide you with a detailed outline of the seminar.
All support material and handouts will be in English. However, all our trainers and our administrative staff are trilingual and would be pleased to answer any questions or give explanations in French or German, too.
Seminar participants are required to pay the seminar fees prior to the course, via bank transfer, credit card or deposit account. The registration for a seminar will be accepted as soon as the payment of the participation fee has arrived at the EPO. You will be notified of this via e-mail.
