Description

This distance learning course has been designed for patent examiners at national offices. Participants will learn the basics of identifying the relevant parts of a patent application for search, they will learn how to build up an appropriate search strategy and coming to terms with the results received. Respective tool training will not form part of this course, since this forms part of other training courses offered by the Academy. Altogether six e-learning modules will be accompanied by virtual classroom session to allow for direct interaction with expert tutors from the European Patent Office.

During the sessions, the participants will have the possibility to communicate live with the experts and ask questions (see "VC guidelines for participants"). They will be recorded and released in the course.

The training will be delivered in three phases at the end of which participants will have to take a test. Certificates will be issued on successful completion of all three tests (at a passing rate of 70%).
